Ear exam: This symptom is also seen with ear wax accumulating in the ear canal and may be touching the ear drum. A n ear drum infection is usually accompanied by an ear ache. Your PCP can diagnose either of these conditions. For fluid in the middle ear, an ENT is preferred, however.
