A member asked:

Should one do any blood test, pelvic ultrasound etc. before trying to get pregnant? and how soon after getting pregnant should go see a gynecologist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Preconception Care : Consulting a clinician who provides preconception care (Reviews your medical, family, genetic and gyn history, performs a complete physical exam with or without a pelvic ultrasound, checks your CBC, blood type/Rh, rubella immunity and other screening tests, offers folic acid and discusses your reproductive plans) 2 to 3 months before getting pregnant is a great idea. Start prenatal care ASAP.
