My son has the flu, day 6. he was told to take tamiflu and given script for his wife. also told if we had been exposed to him, we should take it. i ?

Common practice: The common practice is to prescribe a full 2Xdaily course of Tamiflu (5d) for those with flu. For family contacts a 1X daily (10) course is given but increased to 2Xdaily if symptoms emerge. Flu is spread by saliva or droplets in the air. Tamiflu is one of the few things we have that can blunt/prevent it.
