Further look: Assuming the US was of the bladder, they might have seen something that suggested the problem lay higher up in the urinary tract (UTI is urinary tract infection, and includes the kidneys, ureter and bladder), although MRI is not usually the first line imaging used. There is probably something that I'm missing here
