A 42-year-old female asked:
Hi, My AC1 is 5.3 now but my fasting sugar has been in the 140s+ for the last 2 weeks. Should I be worried?

Be careful: A1c is a 3 month average so a 5.3 is normal but your fasting glucose is in the diabetes range the last two weeks. If this continues for 3 month, your a1c will not be 5.3 anymore and coukd be higher than 6.5%. Watch your sugar and carbohydrate intake. Increase water and physical activity. Be sure to recheck a1c in 3 months. Good luck.
