Yeast? Allergy?: Monistat and similar treatments usually are very effective against vaginal yeast infections, and it probably will work. However, it is possible to be allergic to monistat, perhaps explaining the pain with application. See a doctor for professional diagnosis and recommended treatment. Good luck!
