A member asked:

I took monistat 7 for what doctors thought was a yeast infx (they wouldn't swab me). medication made itch /burn worse. stopped it. today did swab myself 1 day after using monistat. can yeast infection medication hinder the results of vagisense swab?

Resistant yeast?: You may be allertic to the monistat. And yes, it could interfere with your test result. However, it's also possible you're one of the 5-10% of people with vaginal yeast resistant to monistant and other "azole" drugs. If your Vagisense is positive for yeast, you may need an entirely different treatment, by prescription, both for effectiveness and your possible allergy. See a doctor in person.
