Not ideal: You need a great internist to mange your weight and reduce risk! Then a very good surgeon to do a significant repair. There are occasional emergencies but you do not state those so I favor a very careful thoughtful approach.

Its conditional: Hernia operations in overweight patients are to be assessed carefully against pros and cons. Yes you can have surgery but success rate will be low at your current weight . Best case scenario is losing weight first and hernia repair later but if hernia is too symptomatic, it may need repair first. this needs careful assessment by a surgeon experienced in hernia repair in obese patients.
