Possibly: Cirrhosis and ascites are comorbid conditions that will make surgery more risky. Your surgeon will operate if they feel the benefits gained from the surgery will outweigh the risks of performing surgery or the risks of not operating. These are important concerns to discuss with your surgeon prior to the surgery.

Maybe: You are at high risk for any type of surgery; if your liver failure is worsening with increasing ascites you must let your surgeon know, that will need to be addressed first.
