I have inguinal hernia from past 5 years, how important is to operate or not to operate? i don't have any problem in my day to day activities.

Not urgent : With a hernia, we worry about the possibility of a loop of bowel becoming stuck, causing an obstruction or gangrene. This is unpredictable but when it happens it requires an emergency operation. We therefore like to repair hernias electively, with an outpatient operation and lower risk of complications.
