A member asked:

Ive been taking alprazolam for a long time, and i notice now (even as prn) that i barely notice relief with 1-2mg, but then i black out if i take just 1 or 2 more pills. why is there no middle ground (of relief)? anyway to fix this? lower tolerance?

Alprazalam: I think you have become tolerant of the drug. Increasing he dos without medical supervision I unwise and will only increase your tolerance. You need to see your physician as a change of medication may be in order. Good Luck

Tolerance/dependence: You have developed tolerance to alprazolam which decreases its effectiveness and can lead to addiction! Strong need to discuss with your prescriber or get a consultation from another.
