Xanax (alprazolam): 4 hours is a safer bet so wait 4 hours before nursing

Aprazolam: In general, it is suggested to use one of the shorter acting benzodiazepines while nursing, such as lorazepam or oxazepam since they have a shorter half life. Alprazolam is long acting so if you wait 2 or 4 hours, it will still be in your breastmilk.
