A member asked:

What effect would fasting for approx. 15 hours have on the body of a teenager who is not taking medications and doesn't have any medical conditions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing dramatic: The body shifts into a separate fat burning metabolism during fasting. It takes longer to provide sugar for metabolic activities when converting to it from fat & the person will likely feel sluggish. As long as they do not have a significant medical condition that is aggravated by fasting, this should be well tolerated.
