It's just "food": Powdered protein is just "food," but it is processed food. For example, whey protein powder is the whey protein extracted from milk (we hope the factory is not throwing away the rest of the milk after removing the whey). A person who already has a healthy diet and healthy life (has good kidneys) should not notice any difference if he eats processed protein, except for gaining the added calories.
