Good is relative.: It is certainly a solution, but maybe not the best one. There are many things to consider before using a dose pack. The inflammation is probably from over use and taking steroids is generally the first line of treatment. Consult with your medical doctor for a treatment plan.

Probably NOT: unless you have seen a doctor who has prescribed it and has a good rationale. You may have a ruptured tendon or muscle and this could make that much worse. Typically there would be a deformity if this is the case (this arm looks different from the other). If it is just a sore muscle, arnica gel and taking tart cherry extract could help you deal with the pain as well as acetaminophen and heat.

Not great: Pain in right biceps from exercising would more likely be from.a strain or even partial tear rather than "inflammation". Steroids can potentially weaken tendons. Better to rest and if it does not resolve over 3-5 days be seen than to self treat with oral steroids in my opinion.

Steroid post workout: Not recommended. Steroids have many side effects which can be much worse in comparison.
