A member asked:

Is an enlarged thyroid of concern when all thyroid blood work comes back normal?

Probably not: Enlarged thyroid needs observation. It can cause issues with breathing, hoarseness, lump in the throat feeling, If you haven't already, you may need an Ultrasound to evaluate for possible nodules or masses. You should see an endocrinologist or ENT doctor for further intervention or sometimes your primary may order an ultrasound. Enlarged thyroid is common, however.

Thyroid. : While normal thyroid blood test results are certainly reassuring, they don’t answer the question as to what is making the thyroid gland structurally too large. It could be related to cysts or nodules or general enlargement. An ultrasound of the thyroid would help to answer this question.
