A member asked:

I had blood work done after imaging showed 2 nodules (thyroid). tests came back in normal range. but tpo (ab) was 647.8, is this norm? what's it mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TPO antibodies: Different labs have different ranges of "normal" for TPO antibodies, so check the normal range. I think this is high, however, which suggests Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Hashi causes scarring and fibrosis of the thyroid, which often causes the appearance of "nodules" on ultrasound. Eventually, the thyroid will probably fail and you will become hypothyroid. Best to see an Endocrinologist.
