A member asked:

Had my bloodwork done within my 26th week of pregnancy & the result showed i have 455 platelet count. should i be worried? booked another bloodtest.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, a high platelet count may be an indication of iron deficiency. Please discuss taking iron supplement with your doctor. Wish you good health and a healthy baby!
