Diet: Although exercise can help to control your blood sugar, the primary factor is diet. Eating foods that are less processed, and have sugars that are slowly processed, is the key. So instead of eating white rice, white potatoes or white bread, eat whole foods: brown rice, yams or sweet potatoes, and whole grain bread. Space out your carbohydrates, so you do not eat a large amount at one time.
