Not sure: It is possible to drink to much water in cases where you are losing electrolytes and water in the context of physically demanding work. This can cause muscle spasms. Be sure to replace electrolytes as well (ie sports drinks). The thyroid would need to be monitored by your physician, can't know if it is involved based on this information alone.
