What is the probability of transmitting high risk cervical hpv if my hpv dna has been negative for the last five years?

Low: It is unlikely you are carrying high risk cervical hpv if your test has been negative for 5 years. That being said, HPV is rarely tested in women who are less than 30. In addition, there are many strains of HPV that wouldn't be tested for with any test

Never always/never: The HPV family of viruses is well known for their ability to clear an initial infection & hibernate indefinitely within your body. Most clear & never shed virus (contagious), but some do. If & when they do it would be erratic & not necessarily evident on random tests. In medicine we are cautious about using the terms always or never, too many exceptions.
