In the U.S. we follow the ASCCP Cervical cancer screening guidelines. The current risk for cancer takes into account your age, the cytology (cells from pap smear or colposcopy) and HPV test results (high risk strains). The future risk takes into account just the HPV. It is possible for abnormal cells and HPV to return even after loop. Continue to see gynecology at least annually to monitor changes
