A member asked:

How safe is the removal of the gallbladder? is 0% function of gb enough reason to have it removed? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Safe but I would wai: Removal of gall bladder is a fairly safe procedure, yet no operation is 100% safe. If your gall bladder is not causing you some serious symptoms you have an option to leave it alone and not rush into surgery which may or may not be useful to you. Lack of function does not mean it is causing you any harm(unless you have gall stones). I would not rush into doing any surgery unless you have symptoms.
