There is a step-wise: approach to treating acne. 1 or 2 Meds for mild to moderate acne and for scaring acne , different, stronger Meds. Over the counter Benzoyl-peroxide is usually the 1st Rx given but it sounds like you need prescription strength Meds. Consult with a Dermatologist or you can start with your Primary Care doc.

Wishful thinking: The majority have it in their teens with resolution by their early 20's.However, a subset can have it off and on well into their 30's and beyond.Eventually it will disappear, but is one of the hardest skin problems to predict. Best to find a dermatologist you can work with and keep up your skin care plan until it stops
