Yes: There is still some debate about this but there shouldn't be. Even the american college of ob/gyn put out a statement that there are no real indications to leave the cervix behind. Some surgeons are doing this because it is a simpler surgery and a paper 20 years ago stated that leaving it can lead to better sexual function. That is not true. Leaving it behind can lead to more problems.
