I have fibroids and had a mirena inserted 5 years ago to deal with this. the mirena has to come out and fibroids is 12 cm. is hysterectomy only option or will menopause shrink this. i am 53 years ?

If you do not have anemia and hemodynamics are stable, do not have orthostatic hypotension, your options are definitely to wait for menopause when fibroids will shrink and will not have a reason to bleed anyways. You should discuss this with your gynecologist and ask for all the options available in your condition . This is part of informed consent. Hope it helps.
