Not usually : That is called a supracervical hysterectomy. Occassionally someone will experience a small amount of bleeding due to endometrial cells present in the lower uterine segment. That is not very common though.

Consider 4th opinion: Hysterectomy is an option, but theres a safer, less invasive option: uterine fibroid embolization (ufe). Its an outpatient non-surgical procedure which is highly effective at relieving the symptoms of fibroids (exs. Heavy bleeding, pelvic pain, inc. Urinary frequency) and allows women to keep their uterus which is significantly under appreciated. Losing uterus may open doors you don't want opened.
