Folliculitis: Shaving can often lead to skin infections due to using razors that have been used previously and thus may harbor skin bacteria. These bacteria can then seed any place the razor nicks the skin or disrupts the surface of skin. Sort of like seeding a plowed field. Gives bacteria a fertile place to grow. Using a new razor each time you shave or sterilizing razor can help prevent.
