HDL and LDL levels: Your triglycerides are fine. In order to assess the cholesterol level properly we need to also know the levels of hdl and ldl- the so called good and bad cholesterols. A total cholesterol of 229 may be too high unless your hdl is at least 58 and ldl is no higher than 130. Your physician who knows you best can better advise you on this matter.
