HPV virus: The HPV virus can resolve on its own. It can lay dormant in some cases and reappear later on. One can reacquire it from new sexual partners. Your pap smears have been normal for 5 years which is good indication that it is not active at this time.

Possibly: The treatment for an HPV lesion on your cervix does not change whether you are contagious. It's possible that your previous HPV infection is completely gone, but it's also possible that you are still shedding the virus. Best remedy for partners is if they had the HPV vaccine.
