Swollen leg veins.: Veins on the legs can swell for many reasons. It is unusual for veins to hurt unless there is an inflammation or clot in the vein. Although you symptoms improved with ice it would be prudent for you to see a vein specialist for a vein evaluation and possibly a venous ultrasound.
