You did: exactly the correct thing! You may have had a temporary blockage in the vein..in any event if there is no recurrence mention it at your next routine health assessment! Hope this helps Dr Z

Swollen leg veins.: Veins on the legs can swell for many reasons. It is unusual for veins to hurt unless there is an inflammation or clot in the vein. Although you symptoms improved with ice it would be prudent for you to see a vein specialist for a vein evaluation and possibly a venous ultrasound.
