Current tests: Follow up tests, like the initial ones depend on finding the genetic material of either germ in specimens from pee or a swab. When properly performed, these tests are reliable with a false negative rate of only a few percent. Persisting symptoms can be from other issues and or remaining irritation that has not subsided after the germs are dead. Please discuss your concerns with your doc.
