Not yet: The general consensus in our specialty (ENT) is that an 8 day history of your symptoms is a viral upper respiratory infection. An antibiotic is not needed at this time. Unfortunately, you have tinnitus or perception of sound in the ear which is a central (auditory nervous system) problem. If you are not significantly better in 3 to 4 weeks consult an otolaryngologist.
