I had an abdominal mri with contrast, is this the same as an mrcp or do i need an mrcp for pancreas/ gall bladder evaluation?

MRCP: These tests are not the same. The MRCP uses a special protocol to see the bile duct and the pancreas in better detail. It would not be seen this way on a regular MRI of the abdomen. If your physicians feel that you need a test specific for the bile ducts, they will order the MRCP. Good luck.
