I recently had dental xrays ..an area of a lighter grey was shown..my dentist dosent know wat it is..so shes made a referal to maxofacial...since the xray i found a lump in my cheek lining you carnt see it but i can feel it.what can this mean?

Concerned: I know you are concerned about both findings but it's too difficult to even give a good educated guess about what's going on with such little information to go on. Odds are in your favor that there is nothing serious to worry about. You'll get better answers soon once the Oral Surgeon sees you.

Lighter grey + lump: May or may not be related. Not being able to examine you, feel the lump, look at the x-ray, the best we can say is follow your Dentist's prudent advice and go for the second opinion.
