Went to dentist because i had lump on outside of gum near root canal on the back monlar they xray said teeth still ok have me on tablets metronide?

Possible reinfection: If the root canal was recently completed, the lump may very well be part of the healing process from the original infection. If the root canal was done awhile ago, then the tooth may have become re-infected and will require more care than just a dose of antibiotics. There are numerous reasons why the tooth re-infected, but there is insufficient info, but hopefully it is treatable! Good luck!

Not OK: Swelling indicates infection. They gave you antibiotics to help control the infection. Obviously not OK. Seek additional information or 2nd opinion.
