I have arthiritis and find that taking an nsaid helps. is taking an nsaid daily ok? if so, is it better to take 800 mg ibuprofen or 25 mg diclofenic?

?Ibuprofen is safer: Some studies, including an FDA study several years ago with 1.5 million people followed over many years, show ibuprofen to be safer, cardiac wise, than diclofenac. The safest in terms of cardiac issues AND GI side effects is celecoxib, celebrex. Regardless, your PCP should monitor your kidney and liver functions annually.

NSAID's: NSAID's can be used safely, but you should do it with the supervision of your doctor. They can interact with other medications and can have side effects of their own. If you are going to take them, be sure to take them with food. There is no significant difference between the two that you mentioned. Be sure to speak with your doctor. Good luck.
