Go to the ER ASAP: CAuses are myriad, including infection and allergic reactivity. Regardless of cause, if your tongue is swelling to the degree you describe the danger is that you will develop swelling to the point where your breathing is compromised. Get to the Emergency Room for eval and treatment.
