A member asked:

Why are a lot of gps reluctant to do any more thyroid tests than the tsh test? i've heard the tsh isn't always reliable. why would they do it then?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reliable: TSH is a very reliable test. If the TSH levels are within normal limits, then thyroid function is almost always normal. You may consult this site for more info on this topic: http://www.thyroid.org/thyroid-function-tests/ For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine.
