Exam needed: The sharp pains and fever call for examination by a physician. Depending on the site of pain, an association with deep breath or cough, pleurisy or pneumonia is a possibility. Back radiation could indicate gall bladder inflammation or a kidney stone. Evaluation in the hospital emergency room is advisable as prompt examination and testing will be obtained.
