A member asked:

I broke my 2nd metacarpal and got screws put in last week, when is the fastest i can play basketball again?

It depends: Typically, once the skin incision heals, you have full range of the motion of the wrist and fingers, minimal pain and see some healing of the bones on x-rays, you can return. This will be somewhat of a judgement call and you should certainly follow the advice of your surgeon. Most patients can return within 2-6 weeks.
