Depends on your body: Bone generally takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal in the average person with no other co-morbidities. Physical therapy will be needed after any type of ankle fracture to get your strength back. These injuries typically can take at least a few months before one can participate in full contact basketball. But it really depends on how bad your fracture was and how quickly your body responds to treatment.
