I had a monospot test one year ago and was positive for mono. now 11 months later i've had anotherpositive. could this be the same infection?

Same antibodies: The simple screening test for mono often just indicates the presence of antibodies to the EB virus which should be present for quite a while. Viral detection studies could be ordered but these are more expensive & generally reserved for confusing cases. Specific IgM antibody to the EB virus is more specific to new infection but this fades leaving the IgG antibody for long term

Monospot: Monospot can remain positive up to a year after initial mono infection.
