Post op pain: Pain following extractions and insertion of an immediate denture is not uncommon. The extraction sites themselves may be the cause, but more likely the denture is not seated completely and comfortably. Please see your dentist who can place a temporary, soft reline material inside the denture to help cushion the forces on your tender gums.

Not Uncommon: Immediate or transitonal dentures sometimes can be a challenge for the patient as the extraction sties will undergo changes during the healing process. Patients who have an immediate denture may sometimes require more adjustment visits and/or relining of the denture as the extraction sites remodel. A postoperative visit with your dentist would be recommended.

Immediate denture: It's quite common to have pain with an immediate denture, especially with full mouth extractions. That procedure is MAJOR! As tissues heal & the denture settles in, different areas may experience pain. Bone fragments may rise to surface and/or thin gum may expose underlying bone. It's a relatively long process. Your dentist should see you every 4-7 days & make adjustments as necessary
