Help docs! i had 12 teeth extracted a wk ago and immediate dentures put in. the extraction sites are tender, normal?

Yes: But -- see your dentist , who placed the dentures, for evaluation and adjustment. We see our immediate denture patients the next day, 2-3 days later, 1 week , 2 weeks, and 1 month later for evaluation and adjustment. Then we go from there with tissue conditioning until the 6 month mark. This is part of the service and is included in the fee. Also, we will see them in between as needed. Good luck.

Yes: Your gums are healing and shrinking the dentures will need to be adjusted as you heal. Go back for adjustments until you are comfortable.
