Options available: Dental amalgam is a restorative material that is used for years, if you feel more comfortable there are additional options that your dentist can discuss with you. Speak to your dentist about the area that needs to be treated and the advisement will be made about the restorative material to be used. This is dependent upon size and location.

Absolutely not: To my knowledge, no legitimate study has ever shown a relationship between amalgam fillings and anxiety. Worrying about nonsense people read or hear about on the internet can obviously cause anxiety, but it's not the amalgam fillings. This nonsense has been going on for probably 100 years and constantly resurfaces.

Dental Restorations: I am unaware of any dental restorations that induce stress or anxiety. Amalgam has been used for over 150 years and has been placed in billions of restorations. You would think by now we would know of any side effects. If, however, you would feel better having yours replaced with a different material, please discuss your options with your dentist. All the best...
