I am taking a valium pill for anxiety and stress about a dental procedure coming up. i have trouble swallowing pills and wanted to chew it up. my dentist advised against this and said he would crush it and place it under my tongue for me. safe to do?

I would ask your pharmacist to validate the dentist's advice as I think most physicians don't know how absorbable or quick acting sublingual administration of valium is.

IF YOUR SO ANXIOUS THAN ASK TO BE GIVEN IV ANESTHESIA OR NITROUS OXIDE FROMA DENTIST WHO USES IT. A PILL IS MENT TO BE SWALLOWED INORDER TO BE EFFECTIVE.
