A member asked:

If my boyfriend and i were both diagnosed with mononucleosis; is it okay for us to kiss or do we risk prolonging the illness for one another?

OK to smooch: Most likely you share the same virus, so as your immune system develops antibodies to the virus, it does not matter if you get repeatedly exposed to small of amount of virus from your partner. The length of your illness will not be affected. I hope you both feel better soon.

Kiss each other!: You've each got the other's viruses by now. While you're recovering, cherish this time together. It won't prolong your illnesses -- and even if it did, it would probably be worth it.
