Viral shedding: People will continue to shed the virus for several months or years after the primary infection, however MOST shedding occurs while the infected person is still feeling sick. Symptoms of Mono can take several days to two months to develop after infection. Taking care of yourself and maintaining your own health will hopefully prevent you from becoming symptomatic with the infection.

2-3 months: Mono is known as the kissing disease because it can be transmitted through saliva. The best way to know is to get a lab test to comfirm resolution, however, two months is a safe time to wait.
