Mono: Yes, kissing can cause mono.The virus attacks the throat, lymph glands and then the spleen and occasionally the liver.

Yes: The person need only be a chronic carrier of the epstein-barr virus. It gets to the blood and is in the spleen in moments. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. The severity varies tremendously.

Mononucleosis : Mononucleosis is caused by a virus called epstein barr. It's usually transmitted by salivary secretions that's why many call it the "kissing disease".Symptoms include sore throat, body aches and fatigue. Also abdominal pain can be seen.The virus might invade the spleen during the time of illness and and cause potential fragility and rupture with blunt trauma. 6wks rest from contact sports advised.
